When you go to a cosmetic dentist for teeth whitening, your teeth will be whitened through a chemical procedure.

When you take care of what you eat, and keep your teeth white and healthy through a proper diet, that is a bio or natural method that will help you get a beautiful bright and white smile.

Moreover, with chemical teeth whitening agents your teeth might become extremely sensitive; while if you eat healthy you teeth will get only stronger and whiter through a natural process.

1. Fruits and vegetables for clean and healthy teeth.

Fruits and veggies such as apples, celery sticks or carrots do contain natural abrasive agents that will help cleaning the surface of your teeth from the spots and stains. Make sure you eat at least one such crispy fruit or vegetable every day, in order to clean your teeth in the most natural way.

2. Brushing and flossing regularly.

You have to brush your teeth at least two times every day, and make sure to use the floss every evening. With flossing you can eliminate plenty of bacteria and food particles from in between the teeth, which if you just ignore will definitely contribute to staining your teeth and attacking the health of your gums.

3. Prevent tooth decay by eating cheese.

Several studies have shown that by eating a small piece of cheese right after a major meal will protect your teeth against tooth decay. Diary products such cheese, yogurt or milk all contain extremely important ingredients that help with the enamel re-mineralization process.

4. Strawberry and chocolate for healthy teeth.

Indeed, there is enough evidence that proves strawberries will help you get whiter teeth. The strawberries contain healthy acids that help cleaning the surface of the tooth from stubborn and dark stains. Moreover, chocolate helps reducing the amount of bacteria in your mouth, because it contains antibacterial elements. Just make sure you consume with moderation such high sugar content treats.

5. Use toothpaste with whitening agents, not baking soda.

Many people use baking soda in order to whiten their teeth, but several experts agree that it contains harsh abrasive agents that are harmful for the enamel of the teeth. Instead, make sure to purchase whitening toothpaste that contains gentle abrasive ingredients, and this way your teeth will not have to suffer while they will gain a lighter shade.
